WHY Q LIM STUDIO?
In 2008, Q moved to NYC with no singing, acting, or English language skills. She trained hard, was accepted to AMDA the next year, and soon after became the first Korean performer on Broadway in 15 years.
Her experience navigating big life changes and new beginnings has made her a dedicated coach, passionate about helping young performers start their careers on the right foot. Her students span from the U.S. to Korea and beyond, and they’ve been accepted to top acting schools including NYU Tisch, Northwestern, Boston Conservatory, Emerson, OU, USC, OCU, AMDA, Pace, and more with scholarships.

Before You Join J2B
College Audition Consultation
Meet with Q to discuss your goals, target schools, training background, and questions about the college audition process. Prior to the consultation, students are required to submit singing and acting samples for evaluation.
During the meeting, Q will assess your current skill level, discuss school options and audition strategy, and recommend a personalized training plan based on your goals, timeline, and level of preparation. You'll also discuss the coaching schedule and support needed to successfully navigate the college audition process.
This consultation is required for students interested in joining ELITE and helps determine whether the program is the right fit.

Begin with a comprehensive onboarding session where we review your goals, timeline, training background, and target schools. You'll receive the College Audition Package and a personalized roadmap for the audition season.
24/7 Mentorship & Support
ELITE students receive access to a private group chat with Q and the coaching team for ongoing support throughout the entire audition process. Whether you have questions about schools, audition requirements, applications, repertoire, prescreens, or deadlines, you'll have direct access to experienced mentors who can provide guidance and help you stay on track every step of the way.
Target schools
There are hundreds of theatre, acting, and voice programs to research. Q will help you narrow your options and build a balanced school list based on your goals, training level, budget, and desired college experience.
Personalized Coaching Team
No students are the same. Based on your needs, you'll be matched with the coaches best suited to your training, including specialists in vocal technique, acting through song, monologues, and audition preparation.
Select your audition material
It's not about choosing the hardest songs or the most dramatic monologues—it's about helping audition panels understand who you are as an artist and why you belong in their program. Our team will work with you to select material that highlights your strengths, showcases your unique qualities, and allows you to make a lasting impression.
Film your pre-screen
Most programs ask for a self-tape before they invite you to audition live. Strengthen your technique, refine your performance, and record it like a professional, all with the team's guidance. (We’ll even help you pick the perfect outfit.)
Prepare for the live audition
The final hurdle! Fall totally in love with your audition pieces so you can show up grounded, joyful, and so prepared.
